A Heartbreaking Discovery
Roman was discovered lying alone in the wilderness, barely moving.
Abandoned and severely injured, it appeared he had been attacked by wild animals. A landfill worker happened to notice him just in time and quickly called for help.
By the time Roman reached us, he was still bleeding.
His small body felt ice-cold, and his breathing was so faint we could hardly detect it. Every passing second felt like a race against time.
We immediately wrapped him in dry towels, doing everything we could to warm him up. His body temperature had dropped dangerously low, and hypothermia was becoming a serious threat.
For nearly thirty minutes, nothing seemed to change.
So we carefully placed him near a heater, hoping the warmth might help his fragile body recover.
Then something incredible happened.
Roman slowly opened his eyes.
It was only a tiny movement, but in that moment, it meant everything.
Fighting for Stability
By the next day, the bleeding had finally stopped. We brought Roman in for X-rays, hoping there were no life-threatening internal injuries.
Thankfully, the results showed no trauma to his head.
But blood tests revealed another serious concern — his blood sugar had dropped to dangerously low levels. Roman had to remain under close observation inside a specialized warming box for the next 48 hours.
Those two days felt endless.
We monitored every breath.
We checked every small reaction.
We whispered encouragement, hoping he could hear us.
Slowly, his condition began to stabilize.

That moment marked the first real turning point in his fight to survive.
Small Steps Toward Healing
After 48 hours, Roman was transferred to an intensive care room where he could have more space and proper airflow.
He was still extremely weak and needed regular injections and medication, but the immediate danger had finally passed.
For the first time since finding him, we allowed ourselves a moment of relief.
Each day brought small improvements.
Roman began lifting his head.
He started reacting when we touched him.
Eventually, he even tried to play.
His gentle personality slowly emerged. Despite everything he had gone through, Roman remained trusting and calm.
Looking at him, we made a promise:
From this moment forward, his life would be different.

Another Life Waiting for Help
On the way home after rescuing Roman, we came across another puppy in equally alarming condition.
He was freezing, injured, and barely breathing.
We named him Rob.
Although Rob had visible wounds, he seemed slightly stronger than Roman and responded well to treatment. Thankfully, his recovery has been steady and encouraging.
But that night, the story didn’t stop there.
Six More Puppies in the Cold
Later that evening, we returned to the same area to search for other animals who might still be struggling to survive.
In the darkness, we discovered six more puppies.
They had no shelter.
No food.
And they were exposed to freezing temperatures.
At first, they ran away in fear. It took patience, gentle voices, and some food before they slowly began to trust us.
One by one, we were able to bring them to safety.
One puppy was extremely weak, so I held him close during the ride to keep him warm.
He is now receiving treatment and continues to fight for his life.

A Promise to Keep Helping
Sadly, there are still many animals out there facing the same harsh conditions.
Sometimes the reality feels overwhelming.
We can’t rescue them all at once. Resources are limited, and space is never enough.
But our determination remains strong.
We will return with food.
We will return with care.
And we will continue doing everything we can.
Roman’s story reminds us how fragile life truly is — and how powerful compassion can be when it arrives just in time.
From lying beside a heater, barely breathing…
To lifting his head and trying to play again.
Roman’s survival is proof of resilience, patience, and unwavering care.
Every life matters.
And as long as animals are still out there needing help, we will keep going — no matter how difficult the journey becomes.
