A Dog Left Behind and Nearly Forgotten
Nong Kiew once belonged to someone.
At some point, though, that life faded away.
Instead of love and companionship, he was tied behind a house and slowly left out of sight—and out of mind. Days stretched into weeks. The dog who once relied on humans for everything was left alone, quietly enduring pain and neglect.
By the time rescuers finally found him, Nong Kiew was in critical condition.
His abdomen had become dangerously swollen with fluid, stretching tight against his frail body. Each breath looked difficult, and even the smallest movement seemed to drain what little strength he had left.
Standing was a struggle.
And as if the swelling wasn’t enough, a painful wound had developed across his belly—clear evidence that he had been suffering far longer than anyone should.
A Rescue Just in Time
Rescuers gently lifted Nong Kiew and placed him inside a cardboard box so they could transport him safely to a nearby veterinary clinic.
Once there, the medical team rushed to examine him.
The results confirmed their fears.
Nong Kiew was severely dehydrated. His gums were pale, showing signs of anemia, and blood tests revealed that his white blood cell count was nearly three times higher than normal—an alarming sign that his body was under intense stress.
Veterinarians soon uncovered the likely reason behind his swollen abdomen.
Over time, Nong Kiew had been given repeated contraceptive injections—far more than his body could safely tolerate. The treatments had triggered serious complications, eventually causing fluid to accumulate dangerously inside his abdomen.
Doctors carefully began draining the fluid to relieve the pressure.

A Difficult First Week
Recovery didn’t come easily.
On the fourth day of treatment, Nong Kiew’s condition suddenly took a turn for the worse. He began vomiting repeatedly and developed severe diarrhea, raising serious concerns among the veterinary team.
More tests were conducted to determine the cause.
Thankfully, the results confirmed that he wasn’t suffering from a dangerous intestinal infection.
Even so, his fragile body needed immediate support.
Veterinarians adjusted his treatment plan, providing antibiotics, anti-nausea medication, blood-building supplements, and diuretics to help reduce the fluid buildup.
By Day 7, his diet was also changed to a special nutritional formula designed for dogs with weakened digestive systems.
Gradually, the swelling in his abdomen began to go down.

The First Signs of Hope
Then, a small but powerful moment arrived.
On Day 9, Nong Kiew started showing signs that his strength was returning.
When caregivers called his name, his tail gave a soft wag.
He began eating on his own again and could drink water without difficulty. The vomiting stopped, and his breathing became calmer and more steady.
For the first time since his rescue, it seemed possible that Nong Kiew might actually recover.
Just a few days later, another milestone followed.
On Day 15, Nong Kiew stood up and walked outside for a short stroll.
His steps were slow and careful—but steady.
The once-exhausted dog now looked brighter, and there was a new spark of life in his eyes.
A Complete Transformation
As the weeks passed, Nong Kiew continued gaining strength.
By Day 40, the transformation was extraordinary.
The dog who had once appeared thin, weak, and close to death now looked healthy and energetic. His coat grew thicker and shinier, and his body regained the strength it had lost.
But the biggest change wasn’t just physical.
It was in his spirit.
Nong Kiew now greeted his caregivers with joyful tail wags, happily soaking up the attention he had once been denied.

A Journey Made Possible by Kindness
Nong Kiew’s recovery didn’t happen by chance.
Rescuers, veterinarians, and compassionate supporters all played a part in helping him heal. Donations from kindhearted people made it possible to cover the cost of his treatment and give him the chance he desperately needed.
Today, Nong Kiew stands as a powerful reminder of how resilient animals can be when they are finally given the care they deserve.
His journey—from abandonment and suffering to strength and happiness—shows that even the most fragile life can recover when kindness steps in.
Sometimes, all it takes for a miracle to begin… is someone choosing to care. 🐾
