Skya’s Remarkable Experience: The Moment Firefighters Arrived to the Rescue

A Curious Dog Gets Stuck

The story unfolded in a quiet backyard in Salmon Creek, where a curious dog named Skya suddenly found herself in quite an unusual predicament.

While wandering around and investigating everything in sight, Skya spotted a cinder block and decided to take a closer look. In a moment of curiosity, she pushed her head through one of the block’s openings.

At first, it probably seemed harmless. But when she tried to pull her head back out, she quickly realized something was wrong.

Skya was stuck.

No matter how much she tried to wiggle free, the block refused to budge, leaving the puzzled pup trapped and unable to escape on her own.

An Hour of Waiting for Help

For more than an hour, Skya remained stuck with the heavy block around her neck.

Her worried owners attempted to help but soon understood that forcing the block could hurt their beloved dog. Not wanting to risk injuring Skya, they decided to call the local fire department for assistance.

Before long, firefighters arrived on the scene, ready to figure out the safest way to help the trapped pup.

A Team Effort to Free Skya

What started as a small backyard mishap soon turned into a coordinated rescue involving three fire departments: Clark County, Hazel Dell, and Salmon Creek.

The firefighters approached the situation with patience and care. Instead of breaking the cinder block immediately, they first applied lubricants around Skya’s neck and head to make it easier for her to slide free.

Working slowly and carefully, the team adjusted Skya’s position and gently guided her head back through the narrow opening.

It took teamwork, precision, and a lot of patience—but eventually, the plan worked.

After careful maneuvering, Skya’s head finally slipped free from the block.

A Happy Ending

Once she was released, Skya was quickly checked to ensure she hadn’t been injured during the ordeal. Thankfully, she was completely fine.

Within moments, the relieved pup was back to her cheerful and playful self.

To mark the successful rescue, Skya even posed for a few photos with the firefighters who helped save the day.

What began as a simple moment of curiosity turned into an unexpected adventure—but thanks to a group of dedicated rescuers, it ended with smiles, relief, and one very lucky dog. 🐾
