When Hope For Paws rescuers Eldad Hagar and Lisa Arturo arrived at a local nursery, they expected to find a frightened stray.
What they found was a dog carrying the weight of an impossible responsibility.
The severely matted pup had taken refuge beneath a vehicle, retreating deeper into the shadows whenever anyone came near. Although her tail hinted that she wanted to trust, years of hardship had taught her to remain cautious.
The rescuers knew they couldn’t leave her behind.
After carefully attempting to gain her confidence, they ultimately had to secure her for her own safety. As they gently pulled her from beneath the car, panic took over. She cried out and struggled desperately, convinced she was losing everything she had worked so hard to protect.

The dog was nursing.
