Along a quiet railway road in Thailand, residents were startled by the sound of a dog crying nonstop.

Near a metal drainage cover, a stray mother dog paced anxiously in circles, stopping only to peer into a dark opening beneath the concrete. Her behavior quickly caught the attention of people passing by.

Something was terribly wrong.

From deep underground came the faint cries of a puppy trapped somewhere inside the drainage system. The tiny sounds were barely audible, but to the mother dog, they were impossible to ignore.

Throughout the night, local resident Chamree Srivichai could hear the distressed cries coming from below the pavement. Determined to help, she spent hours trying different ways to reach the frightened animal.

Unfortunately, the puppy had moved far beyond anyone’s reach.

Reports later revealed that the small dog had ended up nearly 100 meters inside the drainage system, making rescue efforts incredibly difficult.

When emergency responders from the Hook 31 rescue team and local police arrived, they immediately realized the challenge ahead.

The tunnel was extremely small, measuring only about 45 centimeters wide and 60 centimeters high. Reaching the puppy would require far more than simple tools.

Meanwhile, the puppy’s mother refused to leave.

She remained beside the opening, watching every movement made by the rescuers. Despite not understanding what was happening, she seemed to know that these strangers represented her only hope.

The rescue team first attempted to guide the puppy toward the entrance using long poles. But the underground passages twisted in multiple directions, preventing the method from working.

Rather than waiting for another solution, he lowered himself into the narrow concrete tunnel and began slowly crawling through the darkness.
