A Shape That Didn’t Seem Alive

It started on a quiet stretch of road, the kind most people pass without a second glance.

But something caught her eye—a strange, slow-moving shape near the edge of the pavement.

From afar, it didn’t even look like an animal. Just a clump of something dark, tangled, and forgotten.

As she got closer, her heart sank.

It was a dog.
