Powder’s condition revealed months—possibly years—of neglect:

• Severe Demodex mange: His belly and legs were raw, inflamed, and crusted with infection.

• Painful eye condition: He suffered from entropion, where the eyelids roll inward and scrape against the eye. Surgery would be required on both eyes.

• Serious internal infection: His lymph nodes were dangerously swollen, indicating his body was fighting a severe systemic illness.

Powder was far too weak for surgery right away.

Instead, the veterinary team began a long process of stabilization. Weeks of antibiotics, medicated ointments, and Bravecto treatments were needed to eliminate the parasites damaging his skin.
