When Sprout was first found, he barely looked like a dog.

They quickly transferred Sprout to One Tail at a Time, where a team of rescuers and veterinarians prepared for what would become a long and delicate process.

Sprout had to be placed under anesthesia just to begin grooming safely. What followed took hours.

When it was finally over, the result shocked everyone.

More than 32 pounds (14.5 kg) of matted fur had been removed.
